Trial
Do I need a payment method for the trial?
No. You sign up with email and password, or with Google or Apple. We never ask for a card, PayPal or bank details.
Does a subscription start automatically after 30 days?
Never. Without a stored payment method nothing can be charged. The trial simply ends. You only get a subscription if you choose one yourself.
What happens to my data after the trial?
Your data is kept and not deleted automatically. You can subscribe at any time and pick up exactly where you left off. On request we delete your account and data: an email to info@chicksapp.de is enough.
Price
What does it cost for a large farm?
The price is per farm, not per hen. There are two plans: monthly or yearly. See the pricing page for details.
Using the app
Can my staff record data too?
Yes. You invite staff by email. You stay the owner and keep control of settings and user management.
Is my data always available on any device?
Yes. All entries are stored in the cloud (IONOS, Germany) and are instantly up to date on every device: phone, tablet and computer. You simply log in. You need an internet connection; if reception drops, the app shows a notice and reloads by itself. You can also export your data as CSV at any time.
Does it work on a phone in the barn?
Yes. There are apps for iPhone and Android, and Chicks App also runs in any browser. All devices see the same, current data.
Which housing systems is the app suited for?
You create groups and optionally state the housing system. For free-range and organic housing the app also shows the outdoor run.
Which sales channels can I record?
For example direct sales, farm shop, weekly market, catering, vending machine and packing station. You set up your own names and prices in the settings.
Switching
I already use the previous Chicks App. What changes?
Your login keeps working. The new app is clearer and adds user management and login with Google or Apple. A short walkthrough guides you through the switch. More under “Switching”.
Cancelling and data
Can I cancel any time and take my data with me?
Yes. You cancel yourself in the app under Subscription. Your data can be exported as CSV.
Where is my data stored?
The app runs at IONOS in Germany. The app has no ads and no third-party tracking. On the website we measure usage with Google Analytics. Details are in the privacy policy.
